Dear Parents/Guardians,
We hope you are all keeping well and are enjoying the sunny spells! Here is the next two weeks of work for Home Learning starting on Tuesday 4th June. (Monday is a Bank Holiday) You will see that we have set out the work in daily task form and split it into two weeks. This is just a suggestion and may not suit you at home. Feel free to swap activities around during the week if you need to!
We understand that motivation levels may be dropping at home so just do what you can. Remember, teachers love to see photos of the children’s work and send praise and feedback! This may help the hard workers to keep going!
If you managed to collect your child’s school books then you can use these to support your child’s learning. We have suggested some pages to complete each day from Ready to Write and Cracking Maths. You are welcome to continue at your own pace through the Cracking Maths Home Book as we will not be setting work from that book. You can fill in your copy books too which will save paper at home! (My News, SESE, Handwriting and Maths)
We have attached some optional worksheets if you were unable to collect the books or would like more options at home.
Week 1 – 2nd of June
You will see some activities based on Michael Rosen’s story, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. If you don’t have a copy of the book at home, it is available on YouTube. We think this is a fun version! https://youtu.be/0gyI6ykDwds

Combine sets of objects with totals up to 5 using lego, crayons, blocks etc. Ask your child to make a set of 3, 4 etc and ask how many will there be if I add 1 or 2 more? e.g Say ‘I had 2 I added 3 more and then I had 5 altogether’. ‘I have 1 crayon and 3 pieces of lego, how many do I have altogether?’

Choose a page from the story of What the Ladybird Heard. Pick a character without telling anyone who you have picked and speak like you are that character e.g Lanky Len “I have a plan we can sneak in this way, I am very thin.” or The Prize Cow “ I have won many prizes, I live in a shed.” Take turns pretending to be a character in the story. This can be done through speaking and you can then change it to mime by acting like the animal/person without making a sound.
